Fried egg jellies are a familiar but less frequently seen presence off the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Their bright yellow centres stand out against the green, plankton-rich water, distinguishing them from the lion’s mane jelly. This one hovered mid water column, its trailing tentacles extending at least ten feet below. Two small hitchhikers, amphipods, clung to its bell.
